Introduction:

Today we are taking a look at a couple of microphones from Samson - the Meteorite and the Go Mic Direct. Both of these microphones offer Samson quality and USB connectivity, but one of these is really made to travel, while the other is more comfortable on your desk. If you need a better microphone that the one currently built into your laptop, you really should take a look and see what they have to offer.

Box Shot

This review will be pretty light because, well, they are microphones. They either work or they don't and they either sound good, or they do not. We'll cover a few of the features of course as well as what you get in the package, but in the end, it's all about how well they record your voice.

Bundle & First Look:

The bundle with the Meteorite is simply a quick install guide that states you should plug it into a USB port. The Go Mic Direct bundle is slightly more involved as the microphone itself comes cased in a small plastic box, and there is a bit more documentation as well as a card with a link to download their Sound Deck software.

Meteorite Bundle Go Mic Bundle

Both of these microphones are pretty small and can comfortably fit on your desk or in your laptop bag. I really do like the look of the Meteorite as it looks retro. We'll have to find out if the sound quality is as good as the looks on the next pages.

Side By Side

On the next page, we'll take a bit of a closer look at the Meteorite and cover the specifications before we look more at the Go Mic Direct.
