Windows Update Restores Default App Settings

While this isn't the end of the world, it would still be pretty frustrating. It seems that a recent Windows update has caused your "default" apps to be reset to the Microsoft default apps. This tends to happen more with Microsoft's new "Universal" apps, but it can still happen with other applications as well. It's not massively widespread, and no data is lost, but if you are working IT at a large corporation and are getting 50+ calls a day, it would be more than a little irritating. More details below.

There are two issues here. Firstly, it highlights the ongoing problems users have with the lack of transparency Microsoft offers with Windows 10. This is the first month that Microsoft has published details of patches, despite assuring The INQUIRER in a recent interview that transparency is exactly what the company is striving for.
