Dell Goes Big on Ubuntu

Dell is still invested in Ubuntu and they are updating their "Project Sputnik" to have better hardware and Ubuntu 14.04 and will be updated to 16.04 LTS in April. There is a pretty high-end version that comes complete with a 3K touch-display, 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. If you snag that big-boy, you'll be a bout $1550 lighter, but there are other very slick options starting at about half that.

Dell says somewhat more affordable models with Core i5 processors are on the way, but Dell is positioning these as premium laptops for folks who prefer a Linux-based operating system, not as budget models for users who just don’t want to pay for Windows.
