Sony's PS4 Pro Won't Connect to TVs

The PS4 Pro has had a rather rocky launch. First off, the breakout box acccompanies the PS4 doesn't support HDR (High Dynamic Range) signals on either the PS4 or PS4 Pro. Now there are many, many reports that the PS4 Pro simply won't connect to many TVs and users are being fed a blank screen by their TVs. That's a little disappointing when expecting to be looking at breathtaking 4K HDR. Affected TVs and PS4 Pro combinations include TVs from Samsung, Philips, LG, Vizio as well as Sony themselves. This is a huge disaster for Sony, but good news for Microsoft. Xbox One S sales have taken another jump.

The problem was already so widespread by the end of Thursday November 10 – the PS4 Pro’s launch date – that it had garnered an official response on Sony’s EU PlayStation Forum. Online Support representative KingGobbo admitted the issue’s existence and suggested a convoluted temporary fix involving switching the console into its Safe mode and changing its digital rights management setting from HDCP 2.2 to 1.4.
