LG's Upcoming G6 to Have 18:9 Aspect Ratio

While at CES, LG wasn't willing to talk about their upcoing handset, but there are leaks everywhere and we have just seen a glipse of the new G5. The G4 was a very solid device and the G5 added modules that promised goodness, but never really took off. The G6 comes along now with an impressive 2,880 x 1,440 screen that could be called by some to be a 2:1 aspect ratio. This is a little odd for a phone screen and the device could look quite skinny and tall. We'll be seeing more for sure - and the full launch will be at Mobile World Congress in Spain next month.

The display will pack in 1,440 by 2,880 pixels, a bit more than a typical Quad HD screen. LG says it'll be thinner than before, at less than 1mm thick, and it's reduced the bezel width by 20 percent on the top of the screen and 10 percent around the sides. Additionally, the company says it'll be 10 percent more visible outdoors and it'll use 30 percent less battery life.
