Introduction:

Today I have a great mouse from EpicGear to take a look at and test. This is their latest and perhaps greatest mouse I've ever had the opportunity to use. It offers a solid sensor and then gives you an addition one to swap out if you desire. That's right, this is a very modular mouse the comes with two complete sensors, two sets of left-and-right mouse button switches, weights, covers and more. If you want a mouse that you can truly customise and make perfect for yourself, this is the best change you've got.

While other mice and like mechanical robot beasts that let you change the outer shape and feel, EpicGear only lets you change the color of the outside. It's what's inside that counts - and they let you change that up quite a bit.

The Morpha X is a high performance gaming mouse that offers a lot in the way of performance, software, features, hardware and more. It's not an inexpensive mouse, but it is one of the coolest, unique and useful mice we've seen in a long time. Sensor sensitivity ranges up to 8200dpi on the laser sensor and up to an astounding 12000dpi on the IR LED sensor. Not only that, but the mouse is equipped with full RGB lighting as well. While it may not have every feature on the market, it probably has every useful feature - and a few that are just eye-candy besides.

First Look:

While most mice come packaged in a cardboard box with a window, the MorphaX steps up the game as you can see above. It comes in a tin box with a hinge and custom-fit foam to hold all the goodies that you get when you spend over $100 on a mouse.

You get quite a few goodies in the box. Not only is the mouse already assembled with switches and sensor. They include the extra sensor module, a pair of Omron switches, a switch pulling tool and white palmrest and switch covers for the front of the mouse. All-in-all it's a solid bundle. 

As you may be able to see in the image above, the cord is covered by a nice braided sheath as well. It's a high-quality kit that feels as good as it looks. Flipping the mouse over shows small rear mouse skates and a large front skate that should provide lots of life - especially on a cloth pad. It's such a nice looking mouse, that I'd be really sad if it performed like garbage.
