Fenix PD35 V3.0 EDC Flashlight - 1700 Lumens
Features, Specs and More

I've been a Fenix user for a while now and I've had a fair number of lights come across the bench and many of them I've kept around. I'm an equal opportunity user, however. I've got a few O-Lights in my collection as well as a Surefire. All that being said, Fenix hits the market with a lot of good stuff going on. They have some high-quality products at price points that don't break the bank. They don't sit and bask in their success and just leave things alone. They revisit lights as technology improves and make tweaks to bring us updated versions that have more features - often in the way of lumen output - and at times, battery technology as well.

Today we will be looking at the PD35 V3.0. We looked at V1 back in April of 2020 and we'll do a bit of a comparison as we refer to that review occasionally and let you know what has changed up and what to expect from this 1700 lumen light.

First Look:

The PD35 V3.0 is a 1700 lumen, 18650 or 2x CR123A flashlight that is IP68 rated for 2-meter submersion in water for 30 meters. Fenix says this light is "impact resistant" to 1 meter, and with the 6061-T6 aluminum body, extended strike bezel and solid design, it surely will be able to stand up to daily abuse. It has five power output levels as well as a strobe mode that are controlled by a combination of side-button and rear tail-cap switches.

Box Front

The PD35 V3.0 has dropped the "Tactical Mode" and "Outdoor Mode" options and is a single-mode light. I like this more than the dual-mode flashlights as lights of this caliber are often task-specific and dual-mode flashlights can be overly complicated - or used on a single mode 99% of the time.

As you may be able to see below, the output levels range from 5 lumens all the way up to 1700 lumens with a range of 357 meters. More on that in a bit.

Box Back

Inside the basic, eye-catching package of the Fenix PD35 V3.0, you find everything you need to get up and running almost immediately. The light comes with a manual, warranty card, extra rear button cover, a pair of replacement O-rings, a lanyard, holster, as well as a micro-USB cable for charging the included 18650 rechargeable battery.
