CES - Jason "Fujitsu" Schneider - Day 4
Well, CES has come and gone, and we were there for it all. We had a light 4th day, we made some re-visits to a couple sites, as well as we had a press meeting with Viewsonic. After the third day the excitement that could be seen at the booths had definitely faded, and so had we. Ryan (Howdy) left around lunch time, and myself and Ben (Zeus) will be flying out very early, we have to be at the airport at 3:30am Friday, so its going to be a early morning, or late night, depends how you look at it I guess.
All of us here at BCCHardware had a great time, and we are looking forward to being able to get a bunch of new products in the months to come, we are bringing a couple products home with us so the new reviews will be starting to pour in very shortly.
Today's recap is going to be very short, seeing as we only had a single meeting today, but please make sure to check out the other days for all our coverage, we've also got a directory of all the companies we visited during CES 2007.
We were able to have a press meeting with Viewsonic today the the Bellagio, it was very informative and was nice to see their new products, without being on the CES floor, but in a nice quiet suite. Viewsonic has released products in 3 major categories this year that we viewed (Computer LCD's, Large Flat Panel TV's, and Projectors). I am going to recap a couple that we took a look at.
We were able to take a look at a few projectors, the PJ506D and PJ556D are going to be targeted at the value user, and we were told the PJ506D could have a MSRP of $699 and the PJ5560 could have a MSRP of $899. Another unreleased product (PJ503D) is going to have a MSRP of $399 and will be a 800x600 DLP projector, this will definitely be a product to watch when it is released, since it will make a projector affordable for almost anyone or any business.
We also got a look at Viewsonic's line of LCD computer displays, including the VX2245wm , which includes a built-in iPod dock. It features a 1680x1050 and a 5ms response time. Also built-into the bezel, it includes 4 USB ports, and an 8-in-1 card reader, also it has integrated speakers with a subwoofer.

We also took a look at their line of LCD TV's, one of the new products is a Network connected LCD screen the ND4210W , which includes a built-in 40gig drive. It is a very nice display, and definately has alot of potential especially for business users who do not want to have PC hooked up to a display.
