Aeneon XTune 2GB DDR3 - 1600 Mhz Memory - Testing Setup
Aeneon XTune DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Test Setup:
In this section we will show the setup of the test system for our memory testing. I have provided separate configurations for each of the speeds we have tested (1066, 1200, 1333, 1600, and 1700). It is important to note that in order to achieve some of these speeds we have tested this memory kit at, it required overclocking the FSB, which in turn increases our CPU clock speeds. For all my testing I allowed the Asus Maximus Extreme motherboard to determine the timings that each test was run at.
Test System:
- Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 (2.93Ghz) - Provided by Memory Express
- Asus Maximus Extreme Motherboard - Provided by Memory Express
- ATI HD 2600 Video Card- Provided by Memory Express
- 2 GB Kit of Aeneon DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Provided by Aeneon
- Western Digital 250 gig (16 MB Cache)
- Enermax Liberty 500W Modular Power Supply
In the next section I will show how each test was setup, I've included the CPU and Memory settings for each speed that I tested the memory at.
Aeneon XTune DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Test Setup (1066Mhz Testing):
For this test we have underclocked the memory to 1066 Mhz, and have the CPU running at stock speeds (2.93 Ghz).
Aeneon XTune DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Test Setup (1200 Mhz Testing)
For this test we have underclocked the memory to 1200 Mhz, and have left the stock CPU multiplier at 11x, and therefore are running the CPU overclocked slightly at 3.3 Ghz.
Aeneon XTune DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Test Setup (1333 Mhz Testing):
For this test the memory is still running below stock speeds, and the CPU multiplier has been dropped to 8x, and the CPU is running slightly underclocked at 2.67 Ghz.
Aeneon XTune DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Test Setup (1600 Mhz Testing):
For these tests the memory is running at its stock speed of 1600 Mhz. The CPU is running slightly overclocked at 3.2 Ghz.
Aeneon XTune DDR3-1600 Mhz Memory - Test Setup (1700 Mhz Testing):
In this last testing the memory is running overclocked at 1700 Mhz, and the CPU is overclocked up to 3.4 Ghz.
