Introduction:

mophie is a company that strives for excellence through design. Best known for its IPod protective cases and iPhone batteries, the company was acquired in late 2007 by the technology company mStation. A direct quote from the mophie about us page: “mophie is a powerhouse of creative energy. We believe that good design can and does make life better. We constantly strive to create products that are innovative, useful and bring delight to the user. We identify, develop and execute concepts that will benefit the world. There is always a way to make it better. The products we make, the company we create and the members of our team can always be better.”

With a mission statement like that, we are expecting nothing but the best from the Juice Pack 3G coming into this review.

First Impressions:

I already found the first thing I love about the Juice Pack without even opening it up. The packaging is not a blister pack! With the growing popularity of the iPod, iPhone and accessories for said devices over the last few years, more and more accessory companies are opting for the much loathed blister pack to help protect their product from becoming a high shrink item in retail stores. Kudos to you mophie! You forwent the blister pack, saving me a trip to the emergency room!

Juice Pack Box

The unit itself is almost the size and weight of the iPhone 3G. This has me a little worried right off the bat, as the iPhone is already considered a large phone by today’s standards. As pictured, the unit comes with nothing more than the unit itself, a manual and a USB cable. Bonus points for keeping it simple.
