Installation, Testing and More |
Installation:
While the hard drive bays have rails for easy access, they also only fit onto the drive in one direction, and that direction faces the drive backwards so that the SATA and power connector are pointing to the motherboard side of the case. While this is the way to go for cable management, in certain situations this could be slightly less than ideal.

Overall the installation was smooth; the M59 provided enough room to work in comfortably. Thumb screws on the ODD and rails on the HDD made the process a little easier. Also the long vertical holes beside the drive cages and the motherboard made running cable slightly cleaner.
The manufacture of the case seemed a bit sloppy however, when the holes for the motherboard mounts were drilled, the paint seems to have been pushed up into a dome overtop the screw hole (see picture above). While this isn’t hard to scrape off with a fingernail it sure makes it annoying having to make sure nothing is stuck inside increasing the probability of a cross-thread.
Cooling:
I was very impressed with the cooling inside the case with only two fans I was expecting something somewhat less than the result. While it isn’t as good as some chassis it is still at the top of its game.
The hard drives may get slightly hotter since there isn’t a fan directly cooling them; however, I believe the trade-off is better since the replacement fan is placed on the window side of the case helping move airflow around the video card.
Conclusion:
Great case all-in-all, with some good looks to boot! Good cooling makes it an excellent gamers’ chassis with plenty of room for expansion. It is water cooling ready even with old school water cooling equipment. There is enough room inside for even the longest graphic cards. Cable management is sufficient for most needs and the sweet lighting seals the deal. It even includes a bracket for SSD drives. For 60$ it’s a steal.
Some minor flaws plague the case, including the sloppy manufacture of the case. The way the drive rails are placed "backwards" is annoying to me but I realize that this is for better cable management.
Pros:
- Good Cooling
- Roomy
- Pretty Lights
- Unique Design
- Water Cooling Ready
Cons:
- Sloppy Manufacture
