Day 1 - Synology and QNAP NAS at CeBIT 2010
Network attached storage is all the rage these days and QNAP has some pretty nice offerings on display. We took a quick look at the TS-809Pro as well as their TS-659 Pro and monster 8-bay TS-859 Pro. These are not cheap network attached storage, but it certainly is top notch. QNAP has NAS boxes in their TS-x59 Pro series all the way down to 2-bay devices and all the way up to 8-bay devices. This should scale pretty well for almost any small office, home office situation. They've won a lot of awards thanks to the dual-Gigabit interface as well as a lot of other "Pro" features. Now if they only had e-SATA options as well...
Synology is not to be left our or overlooked when it comes to NAS products either. They were showing off a large lineup of their products and actually had quite a large booth. They have rack-mounted solutions as well as standard desktop NAS products as well. Below is a picture of their consumer level lineup. It looks pretty slick and offers something for almost everyone.
