First Impression:

At first glance, it looked like any other mouse. Then I noticed the coating on it. It has a rubber like coating on it that makes it very easy to grip. It has very big glides on bottom that provide nice fluid movement.  It also has ambidextrous buttons for right or left handed use.Like other high-end SteelSeries mice, it has braided sheathing on USB cable, which doesn’t get caught on other cables like the monitor power or video.

I thought I was missing something; a software disk. However, after reading the small booklet that came with it, I was wrong. It does not come with a software disk. All you have is a small download from their site, which took all of 15 seconds to download, but other than that it was plug and play. There was one more thing I noticed, it was a little heavier than the mice I have had in the past, but it didn’t take long to get use too.

Testing a mouse doesn't sound that interesting and I simply used it just like every other mouse I've used. I played games like Call of Duty 5, Call of Duty 6, and Battlefield 2. It was very easy to set up for each game. The software was very user friendly. You can have several different profiles that you can set-up for each game. I also surfing the web as well as other office applications. The side buttons made paging forward and back a breeze.

Then I tried it on many different surfaces - pretty much anything I could find. I used the desk surface, a cheap cloth pad, a hard plastic pad, a metal pad and even a piece of glass. It did great! I was actually surprised at how well it traced on all surfaces.

The CPI/LCD menu button made switching from gaming to just surfing the web a breeze. Just one click of the button you can switch setting. We will discuss the software more a little later.
