ASRock 890FX Deluxe 4 BIOS:

The motherboard BIOS isn't always very exciting and we have a few screenshots of the BIOS without much comment.  One great feature of the 890FX chipset is that when you boot the system, you can press a single key (X) and your PC will automatically reboot and unlock extra cores that exist in CPUs like the Phenom II X3 processors.  This could help you enjoy an extra performance boost.  Also simple overclocking that allows increased CPU, memory and related voltages is a simple BIOS "click" away.

Overclocking:

Just as in all of our motherboard reviews, we tried to max out the bus and reduce the multiplier in order to achieve the highest bus possible.  I soon discovered that high-end AM3 CPUs don't have a lot of overclocking headroom as the bus topped out somewhere between 230MHz and 235MHz.  We were able to run at 230MHz rock stable, but we didn't get a lot of extra performance with this setting.  We tested out the CPU limitation by increasing the CPU multiplier as well.  Either way we managed to hit a brick wall with the CPU at slightly over 3.6GHz.  We were able to keep things running smooth at 3.61GHz however.  As I'm an overclocking n00b, I left all voltages at stock speeds as I only had stock cooling for the Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition CPU.
