Microsoft Loses Word Appeal, Will Adjust (http://www.wired.com/epicenter/2009/12/microsoft-loses-word-appeal-will-adjust-program/) 2:57
I4i has won the lawsuit and Microsoft will have to stop selling Word and Office on January 11th unless they modify the program so they don’t infringe on the patent held by the Toronto company.  I’m assuming that if they don’t have it patched by that time, they’ll once again appeal.
Jason; “Delayed lawsuits for patent infringement is a sleezeball strategy.”
Ultra Products Power Supply that stopped the company (http://www.bcchardware.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=5136&Itemid=40) and triggered their lawsuit.

2010: The Year of the Tablet (http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/12/23/2010-the-year-of-the-tablet/?ref=technology). 10:08
It appears that although 2009 was the year of Tablet rumors, it appears that 2010 will actually be the year where the tablet (hopefully) takes off.  The big news of course is regarding the Apple Tablet.  It seems that it may finally be a reality (http://www.afterdawn.com/news/archive/21017.cfm).  If you want to know what the industry knows “for sure”, head on over and check out the iSlate at CNET (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17852_3-10422052-71.html).
All of these rumors have caused Apple Stock Prices to gain a few bucks (http://www.betanews.com/joewilcox/article/Are-Apple-Stock-Price-Gains-the-Reason-for-Recent-Tablet-Rumors/1261888552).  That’s good news for Apple investors.

The $75 Future Computer (http://www.forbes.com/2009/12/22/tablet-computer-negroponte-technology-cio-network-olpc.html) 22:05
If you believe in Unicorns, you may find this computer specs pretty credible.  In a part of the OLPC (One Laptop Per Child) initiative, designers are showing off a future $75 tablet.  The specs on this appear quite ridiculous with 1W power consumption on an 8GHz processor.  Moore’s law better kick into high gear.  Clock speeds haven’t increased much on CPUs in the past 2-3 years.

Kingle Milestone: Amazon Sold More Kindle Books Than Physical Books on Christmas (http://www.businessinsider.com/henry-blodget-kindle-milestone-amazon-sold-more-ebooks-than-physical-books-on-xmas-2009-12) 32:32
Society is certainly accepting DRM and swallowing the Red Pill gladly as they move to the Kindle.  Amazon sold more e-Books this year over Christmas than ever before.  That is incredible, except they claim they lose $1 per book.  That being said, Amazon sold 110 items every second on December 14.  That is still pretty good.  Also, the Kindle was the most gifted Amazon item – ever (http://news.cnet.com/8301-17938_105-10422032-1.html).  Good for them.

The Best Alternatives to Every Apple Product (http://gizmodo.com/5431521/the-closest-alternatives-to-every-apple-product/). 43:00
If you hate Apple products, or perhaps want to jump on the Apple bandwagon and ditch your other affordable gear, Gizmodo looks at Apple products and their non-Apple counterparts.  Some of the best deals are actually Apple products, so give up your fanboy-ism (both sides), grab an open mind and check out the article.
