Sony Gets Hacked (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386493,00.asp) 2:37
This was the week of the hacks and Sony certainly was front and center once again.  PCMag reports on this as done CNET (http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20068414-260/hackers-steal-more-customer-info-from-sony-servers/) – which only adds fuel to the hacker-fire and makes them even more famous – which is pretty much why many hackers do what they do.  More customer data has taken this week, and if you have any honest information on your PSN account – change it.

Hackers Attack Nintendo (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304474804576366802876217440.html) 6:00
Nintendo got hacked this week as well, and thankfully – this was just a website hack and no customer information was taken.  Still, it shows that no one is secure if they are targeted.  I bet that Sony is actually rejoicing that they get to share the limelight on this headline.

MacDefender Malware for Apple is Still Running Rampant (http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20110601/sc_livescience/newmacdefenderdefeatsapplesecurityupdate) 7:12
After Apple denied such a thing as Malware on OSX and finally decided to admit that they are vulnerable, the patched the security hole exploited by the MacDefender Malware.  Within days, it was once again breached and since then Apple has continued to be a victim of the Malware and as yet there is no patch.  Be careful where you shop online with your favorite Mac, and if you must purchase stuff online, use American Express.  I can personally say that they have better fraud protection than Visa or Mastercard with $0 Liability.  We could be waiting for a few weeks for another proper patch.

Apple’s WWDC (http://www.tuaw.com/2011/06/06/wwdc-2011-metaliveblog) 12:40
The World Wide Developer Conference happened this week and Apple times this right after Computex where a lot of PC and Windows products are announced and right before E3 where a lot of Windows and Xbox (Microsoft) information is released.  This is strategic of course, and this year they needed to break up the competition because they had very little to report.  There will be some interesting cloud syncing that is PC-less, as well as WiFi sharing that works.  Other than that… not a whole bunch.  Check out the live-blog of the keynote at the link above.

With New Hardware Far Away E3 is Thin on Innovation (http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2011/06/e3-expo-2011/) 20:04
E3 is underway, and according to Wired, there is a lot of flash, but not a lot of substance or innovation.  New hardware for most of these companies is far away, so there is not a lot they can do with games, other than release the next title in the series.  I think E3 2012 will be very interesting as we could be seeing new hardware released by Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft shortly after that.

Live TV Coming to Xbox 360 This Fall (http://news.cnet.com/8301-31021_3-20069346-260/e3-2011-live-tv-coming-to-xbox-this-fall/) 22:30
One thing that looks very interesting coming from E3 is the Live TV and Voice Search capabilities coming to the Xbox.  This platform is about the only one that is really growing and expanding.  Microsoft has turned the Xbox 360 into a media hub that more and more people can use.  Live TV is just another example as well as the Kinect Voice Search that searches Bing, Hulu, Netflix, Live TV and more for the video you want to watch.  Nifty.

The Games We Most Want to See at E3 (http://www.neowin.net/news/a-look-ahead-to-e3-2011---the-games-we-most-want-to-see) 25:25
E3 is upon us and NeoWin has a list of games they most want to see at the show this year.  This year at E3 is all about “Three”.  We have Battlefield 3, Modern Warfare 3, Mass Effect 3, Bioshock Infinite (3rd One), Gears of War 3, and Serious Sam 3.  There are a lot of other titles, but as you can see from the list above, not a lot new is going on – just a lot of sequels.

E3 Arrives With New Games, Gadgets and a Revamped Wii (http://www.cnn.com/2011/TECH/gaming.gadgets/06/06/e3.preview/) 30:17
Even CNN gets on the E3 bandwagon as they give us their scoop on the Electonic Entertainment Expo and show us what they know about the new Wii, Sony’s NGP (Next Generation Portable) and the Xbox, Kinect and new games.  It looks to be promising in some areas, but a little flat in others.

Oldest Problem in Console gaming Solved (http://i.imgur.com/1k8bm.png) 35:51
We don’t have a lot of details regarding this image above, but according to this slide, it could be a great way to prevent screen peeking.  Using 3D glasses, the show each player a different image and this would completely prevent the peek.  Of course if you’re trying to spectate, all you’ll see is crap.  It’s a good idea for the players however.

Windows 8 Will Work With Existing PCs  (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2386339,00.asp) 38:25
Windows 8 information was released on Press-Day at E3 and there is some very good news.  It will work on existing hardware and in fact has lower system requirements than even Windows 7 which in turn has less system requirements than Windows Vista.  What’s more, it looks like it will use the same version for x86 hardware as well as ARM based hardware.  This could give it a huge advantage as all other tablets have different desktop OS counterparts.  There was also a full preview of the OS for Tablets as well (http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-06-01/microsoft-s-sinofsky-previews-version-of-windows-for-tablets.html).

More Information About Twitter Than You Will be Able to Handle (http://blog.buysellads.com/2011/05/the-who-why-and-how-of-twitter/) 44:40
BuySellAds has put together a large flow-type-ish chart of information regarding twitter users, demographics, regions, nationality and more.  In fact, if you spend time reading this chart – you’ll know more about Twitter than probably even the founders do.
